Vestibular (Dizziness) Rehab Program
30% of people age 65 or older suffer from a vestibular disorder and every year as many as 5 million people in the U.S. are seen by their PCP for complaints of dizziness or balance deficits. About 20% of these patients limit their community involvement because of this problem. In addition, dizziness makes up 1/3rd of all falls yearly and 10% end up with serious injuries including a hip fracture.
Studies have shown that 86% of patients suffering from vestibular impairments improve with a vestibular rehab program, while studies also suggest that patients who are referred immediately for vestibular rehab have better recovery than those who wait.
Of note, in conjunction with our vestibular program, we also have a program that addresses Balance and FALL Prevention. (can you arrange it- that by clicking on this – the reader is brought to that page)
Dr. Brianna Cavaleri is our Vestibular Rehab Program Director. She has a special interest in dizziness and balance impairments and has attended a number of advanced seminars on this topic and is one of the most qualified therapists in the state to help individuals with vestibular ( dizziness) problems, as several of her patients have confirm.
