Post-Surgical Rehab
Aside from joint replacements, the most common post-surgical cases we treat include:
- Fracture Management / ORIF Cases ( Upper and Lower extremity)
- Rotator cuff repair ( (+/- acromioplasty)
- Labral repairs
- ACL Repairs
- Meniscal surgeries
- Lateral Release for PFJ tracking
- Spinal Surgery (including spinal fusions and spinal laminectomies)
When a post surgical rehab protocol is provided, we always adhere closely to the program outlined, carefully progressing the patient during the various phases of their rehab, while we also have a comprehensive list of in house protocols that we can utilize, when indicated – typically customizing a patient’s program based on their initial evaluation findings and rehab goals. In addition, we:
- Provide you with comprehensive education regarding your procedure and your rehab phases
- Provide you with a comprehensive home exercise program, which is progressed weekly
- Promptly identify deficits that are not advancing as expected and then modify your therapy as indicated.
- Provide you with the opportunity to attend our practice after DC from PT to continue to work on your fitness levels.
Of note, this is an area of orthopedic and sports PT where we feel that our experience sets us apart from other PT practices, as we can recognize when progress is occurring as expected or otherwise and in turn this is demonstrated by our consistent exceptional therapy outcomes!
